Some Additional Information
I believe that the trajectory of my life has brought me to this moment in time when I am training to be a life coach. Perhaps in a way, I have been a life coach for decades: as a source of steady support and guidance for my mother after my father passed away at age 55, over 35 years ago, as a cheerleader and source of motivation for my (now adult) three children, and as a genuine friend with the ability to truly listen and comfort my friends whenever they needed someone with empathy, compassion, and integrity.
I absolutely and genuinely love helping people – particularly helping people find the strength and wisdom within them. As an integral life coach, I know that I will continue to use my intuition and instincts as a compassionate listener, but I now have an arsenal of coaching tools (self-awareness activities, journaling questions, mindfulness practices) to guide my clients to deeply connect with each of their three centers of intelligence as they navigate the complexities of their lives with a greater sense of balance and harmony. The tools I am learning will help me assist my clients not only to become more self-aware and gain deeper insight into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, but also to develop self-correcting habits and make better informed decisions and choices.
Among the many gifts that I bring to coaching are: being a genuine and attentive listener – I create a warm, friendly, welcoming and safe environment for my clients; having empathy — I can appreciate the other person’s point of view, and truly feel what it is like for them. With this deep empathy, I can gently guide my clients as they navigate the stresses and anxieties in their lives, helping them recognize that often a simple adjustment in how they view a specific situation/interaction can have a significant impact on their anxiety and stress. And one of the most important strengths I bring to my role as an integral life coach is a lifetime of experience: having been raised in Pakistan, Belgium, and the Philippines, my multi-lingual, multi-cultural background gives me a deeper appreciation for multiple different ways of seeing and being.
I am deeply passionate about helping clients move from a place of fear to strength and empowerment. And as an integral life coach, I believe in a holistic approach to coaching that addresses the emotional, mental, and physical aspects of healing. I can integrate and offer various techniques and strategies tailored to each client's unique needs.
My goal as an integral life coach is to empower each and every client such that they can recognize and nourish their inner strength and wisdom as they navigate their lives. And in addition to helping my clients, coaching affords me an opportunity for personal growth. By applying the methodologies I have learned at NVW, I am beginning to gain a terrific understanding of myself – in particular I am gaining a deeper understanding of my triggers and my “glimmers,” and how to minimize the former and amplify the latter.
Coaching provides me with an array of tools: practices and self-awareness activities, which I am able to help clients with as well as benefit from personally. As I follow some of the practices and self-reflection exercises, I have been able to connect to myself in a way that I have not been able to in the past. And that sense of myself, the recognition of who I am at my core, is so empowering. My goal is to be able to help my clients achieve a similar sense of personal awareness and empowerment.
